The rising of "AWATEA"
Thursday 02 June 2022
Designed by well known New Zealand naval architects Lomotion "Awatea" is engineered to not only perform and function exceptionally well, but also stand the test of time with structural engineering seldom found on Motor Yachts of it's size. At 10.58 meters in length with a 3.31 meter beam Awatea will sleep up to 6 people in comfort in a double berth and 4 single berths. A shared walk in bathroom with hot shower, head and sink will keep everyone feeling fresh and an induction cooktop, microwave oven, 85L fridge within the saloon along with a gas hotplate and chest freezer in the cockpit will look after keeping everybody fueled. 700 litres of diesel underfloor will give Awatea the range required for multi day trips away and voyages to fish remote fishing grounds such as the Three Kings Islands and adventures deep in the Southern heart of Fiordland. Although Awatea will be destined for serious adventure, it will also be equally suited as an elegant entertainer with an open plan saloon extending into the cockpit through a bifolding door/window arrangement connecting the inside comforts with the everchanging views on offer outside.
Powered by a single Cummins 6.7L 480HP inboard running a tunnel driven shaft drive and twin rudders, Awatea will have a top speed of around 30 knots. Currently in the final stages of fit out Awatea is scheduled to be completed and transported to the water mid June where sea trials will be undertaken before pointing the bow for the horizon and making its way north to the home port of Aucklands Hauraki Gulf.
